Stunning Kouiasa Waterfall/Kalaritikos River
Kouiasa Waterfall and Kalaritikos River stand out as a reference point in the area. The rushing river follows a route through the gorge located in the heart of “Tzoumerka” and very close to the village of Kalarrytes and Syrrako. Walking along the river, the power and energy of nature overwhelms you giving you a lot of photographic ideas. Although the trail is relatively comfortable for travelers, some wet rocks need some attention though.
The Athamanic Mountains, also known as Tzoumerka, are a large mountain range in western Greece, which is essentially the southern part of the wider mountain range of Pindos that rises between the rivers Arachthos and Acheloos.
